TMP Student Spotlight: Myra Hollis

HollisMyra_TMPMy name is Myra Hollis and I am a third year student at SDSU working towards a major in Psychology with a minor in Counseling. I am a member of the Training and Mentoring Program (TMP) at IBACH, a program that involves students in various aspects of research. One component of the TMP program is to provide students with the opportunity to participate in one or more IBACH health disparities research projects. I am currently involved in the Be In Tune with your Eating (B.I.T.E) project as a research assistant under the mentorship of Dr. Hala Madanat. This study focuses on teaching intuitive eating skills to freshman students attending SDSU. This experience has given me valuable research experience including, measuring participants and learning data entry.

In my spare time, I enjoy working on starting my own non-profit organization to help girls from my community apply for college, financial aid and scholarships. In the future, I hope to become a Marriage and Family Therapist and open my own private practice.
