Isela Martinez SanRoman is Project Manager for Fe en Acción/Faith in Action, a program that aims to enhance capacity in faith-based organizations to implement and sustain multilevel innovations to improve physical activity among Latina church-going women.
Due to finish her Master’s in Public Health and Latin American Studies (MPH/MA) in Health Promotion at San Diego State University in Spring 2024, her Master’s thesis is on experiences of obstetric violence among asylum-seeking women in Tijuana during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Her B.A. is from UC San Diego in International Studies, with a concentration in Political Science and a Minor in International Migration. Isela has experience with community- based research projects since 2011 and is passionate about improving the overall health of migrants, women and their children.
